Recoded Memory: glitch in the age of post-photography by Sabato Visconti
CLICK Workspace, 9 1/2 Market Street

Picture
Details: Recoded Memory features a collection of glitch photography and augmented reality works that explore how digital imaging technologies reconfigure our collective and personal experiences, using 3D modeling, databending, and algorithmic processes to highlight the inherent instability of images and our own memories.

Sabato Visconti is a Brazilian-born photographer and new media artist based in Northampton. Since the start of their experiments with glitching digital photography in 2011, Sabato has interrogated how traditional imaging practices have become absorbed by digital processes, hybridized media, online networks, and machine intelligence –technologies that have also enabled apparatuses for social conditioning and mass surveillance. Sabato's works capture the personal and environmental conditions of subjects living within systems designed to fail and malfunction.
On Display: February 11 - April 30, 2022
Opening Reception:
February 11, 2022, 6:00 - 8:00pm
